STAGE

In 2022, I was commissioned to write the opening stage production of the National Eisteddfod, and alongside songwriters Griff Lynch and Lewys Wyn created a futuristic stage musical about the first woman on the moon in 2050 - following the trials and tribulations of a woman living between two worlds - an allegory about ambition, belonging, and modern motherhood.

SIDE HUStles

When I’m not writing novels or working on scripts for TV and film, you’ll usually find me indulging in my love of singing, playing piano, and composing and performing music—or secretly plotting a radio drama or stage play. These are the creative side quests that bring a different kind of joy and keep me inspired (and Barti the cat mildly unimpressed).

MUSIC

Before there were books and scripts, there were chords, lyrics, and questionable attempts at becoming the Welsh Tori Amos.

As a teenager in West Wales, I spent hours holed up with Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink, mesmerised by how piano and poetry could collide so powerfully. It sparked my own journey of starting a piano band, writing songs in Welsh, and gigging across the country before launching a solo career. Somewhere along the way, I found my own voice and style, earning a BBC Radio Cymru Award for Best Female Artist in 2010.

Most of my songs are in Welsh (and a few English tracks have snuck in too), and you’ll find my albums on all major streaming platforms as music still inspires everything I do.

RADIO

My latest radio drama is Mothercover, an exciting spy thriller featuring two young mothers in Aberystwyth, which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in August 2025, as part of the BBC Sounds Limelight series
