Dafydd is primarily a fiction writer, and is considered
as one of the promising Welsh writers of her generation.
She published two novels to great acclaim, Lliwiau
Liw Nos (Y Lolfa, 2005) and Atyniad (Y
Lolfa, 2006) which won the coveted Prose Medal at the
National Eisteddfod of Wales, 2006. Lliwiau Liw
Nos proved, according to one critic that “her
writing, like her music is unique and a joy for the
senses,” (Catrin Heledd, Taliesin, 2005) while
Atyniad was described as “an intelligent
and diverse work of art,” (Angharad Dafis, Taliesin,
2006.) She is currently working on her first English
novel, Twenty Thousand Saints, (Alcemi, 2008)
and will be publishing another Welsh language novel
– Ffordd o Fyw – in 2009
